Meet the Staff
Dean has been a physical therapist for 16 years since graduating from MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia in 1998. He has worked as a staff physical therapist and then clinical director Dynamic Physical Therapy in Philadelphia before joining Strive. Dean is also a graduate of one of the top College Swimming Teams in the country, Auburn University, where he was an accomplished athlete that learned from several of the best coaches in the world. He has carried that knowledge into Physical Therapy and has special interest in the mechanics of sport and their role in sports injuries, particularly swimming injuries. Dean is a Delran native that moved to Moorestown two years ago with his wife of 14 years, Cara Hutchinson and their three children, Ava, Grace and James.
Veronica graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2015, earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Veronica’s approach to physical therapy is rooted in fostering strong patient relationships to tailor each treatment to address specific patient goals. She is certified in the Graston Technique to further adapt and define her manual therapy skills and is also trained in SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment). Veronica is always open to further evidence-based practices and continuing education to continue adding to her skill set as a practitioner. She is also interested in sports injuries and therapy as sports have been a large part of her life. Veronica has experience coaching and playing various sports and is interested in furthering her knowledge of sports medicine to allow the best treatment for the athletic population.
When not at work, Veronica enjoys spending the summer down the shore and winters skiing in the mountains out west. Her hobbies include coaching field hockey, traveling the country and abroad, and spending time with family.
Lisa Oswald graduated from The University of Scranton in 1999 with her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Lisa is currently a licensed Physical Therapist in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, bringing 15+ years of outpatient orthopedic clinical experience to Strive Physical Therapy. Lisa plans to become certified in Graston technique in an effort to continue to expand her manual therapy skills. Lisa is married with 3 children and enjoys running, going to concerts, and is an avid sports fan.
Alex graduated from Hamilton College where he received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Public Policy. While at Hamilton, he was a student athlete who was able to play 4 years of varsity baseball as a pitcher. It was during his baseball career that Alex discovered his love for physical therapy following shoulder and elbow injuries. Alex continued his education at Drexel University where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2021. While attending Drexel, Alex received his certification as a Speed and Agility Coach. Alex completed his second clinical rotation at Strive’s Center City clinic, where he learned valuable skills in orthopedic and manual physical therapy. Alex plans to continue his professional education in pursuit of a Board Certification as a Sports Certified Specialist as well as a certification in Vestibular and Concussion rehabilitation.
Jay Najafi, PT, DPT graduated from Seton Hall University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2016.
Jay’s specialties include the management of cervical, thoracic, lumbopelvic and sacroiliac joint dysfunctions, shoulder and knee instability, athletic hip non-operative and post-operative care, post-surgical and non-surgical return to sport rehab for high level athlete/X-sports athletes. He uses a variety of methods to help his patients achieve optimal outcome including: dry needling, Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, advance exercise progressions, joint mobilization and manipulation, visceral mobilization and kinesiology taping.
Jay has a certification as a Sacroiliac Joint Specialist through the Hesch Institute as well as advanced post-doctoral coursework in the management of cervical and thoracic spine dysfunctions. He is currently working towards a board certification specialty in orthopedics (OCS), as well as a fellowship in the Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists/Certified Integrative Manual Therapists (CIMT).
Although mainly focusing on orthopedic sports medicine rehabilitation, Jay has also worked in a variety of settings including: acute, sub-acute and home care. These experiences have given him a good understanding of a variety of diagnosis’ in all stages of the healing process.
