Meet the Staff
Nicola Owen is celebrating 28 years of a career she has loved as a physical therapist since graduating from Boston University in 1992. Nicola worked at Bacharach Rehabilitation Hospital before joining a well-established orthopedic outpatient facility in South Jersey in 1994. She became owner of that clinic, Cape Atlantic Physical Therapy, in 2008 and established herself as the community physical therapist. She joined forces with Strive Physical Therapy in 2019 and couldn’t be any happier to be a part of this amazing team dedicated to their staff and their patients. Her clinical expertise is in general orthopedics, neurological and neuromuscular rehabilitation and she frequently calls herself a mechanic of the human body. She is certified in IASTM, BFR and has completed Lower Extremity Post Amputation/Prosthetic Training. She plans on becoming McKenzie and LSVT BIG certified in the near future. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1992 and has been a clinical instructor for physical therapy students for over 20 years. In her free time, she loves being with her children, gardening, playing tennis, kayaking and of course going to the beach.
Jodi graduated from Penn State University in 1979 with a BS degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She was a speech therapist in the Philadelphia school district from 1979-1984. In 1991, Jodi made the decision to change careers. 3 years later she graduated from Atlantic Cape Community College with an Associate’s degree in applied science. Her work experiences include outpatient orthopedics and subacute long term care. She also had experience in clinical instruction of future PTA’s and assisting at the community college as an adjunct in the mid 1990’s. Her certifications include IASTM and BFR. She currently completed a course in Post Amputation/Prosthetic Training.
When not caring for patients, Jodi treasures her time with her husband of 38 years, daughter and son in law in Philadelphia and son, daughter in law, and 11 month old granddaughter in Colorado.
Shelby graduated from Stockton University in the spring of 2019, earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Her undergraduate course work was completed at Kent State University in Ohio, where she emerged in 2013 as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
For three years, Shelby worked at various locations in Ohio and West Virginia, honing her skills as a Physical Therapist Assistant in preparation for the career she always dreamed of. Shelby is very happy to begin her career as a Physical Therapist with Strive. She is interested in a wide variety of diagnoses and populations and derives great satisfaction from working with all of them. She is certified in Blood Flow restriction therapy and has participate in an Amputee training course through Medbridge. Her goal is to become certified in the McKenzie Method for treatment of spine and extremities as well as LSVT-BIG, commonly used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
In her spare time, Shelby enjoys reading, the beach and bike riding.

The professional atmosphere, cleanliness, and attentiveness of the staff I came in contact with at Strive provided a wonderful experience.

The time I spent with Tom and other members of the staff was great. The therapy that was provided cured me! I’m thankful to Dr. Paz who recommended that I come here. Again the staff here at STRIVE have been great. I could come here just for the workout. Again, I say thanks for your…

Mark knew what he was doing; in all my years of therapy Mark was the best. He gave me Physical Therapy that worked for me. He knows his career very well. He knows what the patient needs to get better. Thank you so much!
